| Following the retirement of David Reynolds as
Organist at the end of June, St Nicolas Church is keen to appoint an
Organist to work with our Director of Music, Sarah Cope, in leading and
developing the musical side of our church's life.
Ideally, the person appointed will be:
1) an organist who will play for one morning service each week,
together with other major services as required, and
2) someone who is able to help direct our RSCM-affiliated choir.
Music is seen as a vital component in the church's
overall vision of 'Sharing the Life of Jesus Today'. St Nicolas
encompasses a wide range of worship styles and anyone coming into this
post would need to be a committed Christian who is conversant and
comfortable with everything from traditional hymns and anthems to
contemporary worship songs. As well as the full range of church
services, musicians at St Nicolas have been involved in a number of
musical projects with the local community, most recently in a highly
successful production of Godspell. Details of the
organ are shown here. This is
a paid post. If you would like to discuss the post
informally, please feel free to contact Sarah Cope or the Rector, David
Stone. Applications should be in the form of a
letter setting out what you would bring to the post, together with a CV
and details of two potential referees. Applications should be
addressed to The Rector, St Nicolas Church Hall, West Mills, Newbury
RG14 5HG or sent by email to rector@st-nicolas-newbury.org
