Daybreak

Daybreak is a group for parents with young children. It is sponsored by St Nicolas Church and uses its facilities but you don't have to be a member of the church to take part in what's on offer.

Every week there is a talk or activity for you in the main hall and a crèche upstairs for the children. Of course, you are welcome to keep your child with you if you prefer. Talks start at 10:15 am and coffee is served at the end of the session at 11:00 am.

The Crèche

The crèche is available from 10:00 am until 11:15 am. We aim to make the crèche a safe and happy place for the children - please sign your child in and let us know their needs. You must remain on the premises while your child is in the crèche and collect them by 11:15 am, please.

Once you feel settled at Daybreak, we ask that once a term you sign up on the rota to help both with refreshments and in the crèche.

Helping with Refreshments

Please help to serve tea and coffee and wash up afterwards. Cups and saucers will already be laid out and a committee member is always on hand to help.

Helping in the Crèche

This involves being an extra pair of hands and eyes to ensure the children are safe in our care and to encourage play. For example, you may wish to read to some of the children, help with a craft activity, or play with the babies. We are fortunate to have a dedicated Crèche Manager.  In addition there will always be several volunteer helpers and at least one committee member with you at any time.

Other Information

We invite a suggested donation of £1.00 per meeting.

We hope you and your children enjoy Daybreak and find it a place to learn about different things and make new friends.

In the event of a fire alarm please leave the building by the fire exit, your children will be brought to you.

If you would like any more information, or have any comments, please contact the church office and ask to be put in touch with a committee member. At meetings,  Daybreak committee members can be identified by large printed name stickers.
