HOME GROUP QUESTIONS

WEEK BEGINNING 24 OCTOBER 2004

HABAKKUK

For home groups that would like them, here are some questions based on the talk at Sunday's 7:30 pm service. There's no need to answer them all - just tackle the ones you have time for. You don't need to stick to the areas mentioned here - feel free to discuss any other issues that arise for you.

1. Reading through chapters 1 & 2, what truths do you use to deal with difficult situations?

2. How free do you feel to tell God all your thoughts and feelings?

3. How do you cope when your prayers are unanswered or you receive answers that you hadn't expected?

4. What aspects of God's character help you cope with the storms of life?

5. How do you cope when you are waiting for God to act? What could you do to strengthen yourself at such times?

6. From what Habakkuk says in chapter 3, how do you think he would view the way we pray in the 21st century? How prepared are we to dig deep and draw close to God in a way that allows him to transform us?

7. In what hard situations do you feel able to rejoice? And in what situations is it more difficult? How might you deepen your understanding of God so that you can rejoice in all things?
